Wales in the Capital

About us

A bilingual service of worship is held every Sunday, except in August. Our minister, the Reverend Richard Brunt leads us on the first Sunday of each month and we are fortunate to welcome other ministers during the remaining Sundays. On occasion, a member of our Church will organise a special service e.g. our annual Young Person’s service, led by Mrs Eleanor Thomas, when we worship through the medium of music and speech, with performances from our congregation – both professional and amateur and with other contributions from our talented youth. We are delighted to be able to include modern hymns in our services and accompany these on the organ, piano and even on the drums!

Clapham Church’s Young People

We are very fortunate in Clapham Church to welcome a thriving community of young individuals – the P.I.C.C.s (Pobl Ifanc Capel Clapham or Clapham Church’s Young People – who doesn’t enjoy a Welsh pic!) – every Sunday during the service. Our youths attend from varied locations within and outside London, to meet in order to learn about God and have fun whilst doing so, primarily through the medium of Welsh. During Sunday School we sing, play, perform, create crafts, play football, tennis, traverse obstacle courses and even compete at Mario Kart on our Nintendo Switch! Our goal is to provide opportunities for our youths to develop within a safe environment, where they can build a network of bilingual friends throughout the capital.

Dreigiau Bach Llundain

Dreigiau Bach Llundain is a Welsh Language playgroup for children which meets regularly in the vestry during term time. It is a Welsh language group for children from birth to the pre-school age of four. Dreigiau Bach Llundain is registered with the Mudiad Meithrin and follows the guidelines for their You and Me playgroups. The sessions offer an opportunity for babies and children to play, listen to stories, participate in craft activities, sing and socialize through the medium of the Welsh Language.
